BEIJING, March 20) -- Malaysian weightlifter Mohd Faizal bin Baharom, gold medalist of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, wants to "go north" to China to draw on experiences, with an aim to better perform at new high-level competitions.
He intends to go with his Chinese coach Lin Xinhui to China for further training, a Xinhua News Agency report said.
Faizal topped men's 56kg category at the weightlifting event on March 16, his best personal achievement. However, he cast his eyes on this year's Asian Games and the 2008 Olympiad.
The 24-year-old athlete hoped that by training and competing with lifters such as those in China he will improve his record.
