(BEIJING, April 9) -- The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has recently released the 2006 list of world records. Asian athletes, including Chinese Liu Xiang, now crowd the list, which used to be dominated by Russian, American and African sportsmen and women.
Chinese sprinter Liu Xiang broke the world record in the men's 110m hurdles by clocking 12.88 seconds and won the titles of most of the competitions he entered in 2006.
Another Asian 'miracle' is the Japanese female runner Kayoko-Fukushi, who set the new world record of the half marathon in 67:26 minutes.
