The Olympic News Service (ONS) provides comprehensive information about the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to help members of the accredited media in their mission to cover the Games and to facilitate members of the Olympic Family.

Information prepared by ONS will be distributed through BOCOG's intranet information platform INFO2008, which has terminals installed at MPC, IBC, VMCs, IOC hotel, Olympic Village and Media Villages.

The information includes Games results, news reports, biographies of athletes, teams, coaches, competition officials and horses, background data, medals, schedules, records, transport and weather.

ONS aims at providing an efficient and effective service, focusing on brief, accurate and objective Games information.

ONS will also manage MPC and VMCs pigeonholes and distribute hardcopy results and selected news items to the accredited media in the press tribunes and press workrooms.
