(BEIJING, August 20) -- "Congratulations! Your work is excellent!" With these laudatory remarks the visiting officials of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) summed up their impression after they toured the Technical Operations Center at Digital Beijing Building on Monday.
The center's working team updated Hein Verbrugen, IOC Coordination Commission for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, Gilbert Felli, IOC Olympic Games Executive Director and others on the organizational structure, functional layout, operational mode and problem solutions, displayed INFO2008 and exchanged views with the visitors in line with the practice of the previous Olympic Games.
Located at the center of the Olympic Green, the Digital Beijing Building will function as the technical support center for the Olympic Games and the communicaiton center for the Olympic central zone.

INFO2008, an intranet information system for the Beijing Olympics, will be the primary outlet for all Olympic News Service (ONS) information and reports. Accredited media can find Games information such as results, news, biographies, background, schedules, medals, records, transport, weather as well as a message board on INFO2008 terminals installed in all Olympic areas.
Compared with INFO2004 and INFO2006, INFO2008 has such new features as a calendar bar for News, Records and Medals; a global free text search function; and a wireless access (a rate card service).
