More than 90% of all web users surfing into the new Internet home of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad love the new look, design and user-friendly interface.

Of the more than 9,800 visitors who participated in the on-line survey, 4,107 of the respondents said they were "extremely satisfied" and another 4,654 said they were "relatively satisfied" with the new site.

Survey participants praised the new sites news column which had a satisfaction rate of 67%.

The revised news column integrated the original website, providing faster access to Olympic information and a more comprehensive coverage of the current preparation work in the Olympic City.

Efforts are also being made to speed up and improve the news release process.

Another 3,509 voted for the "e-map" section; 4,402 for the "Olympic Spirit", and the new "photo gallery" won the favor of 3,616 voters. Visitors also left their suggestions for improving the site and adding a "fun page", "videos", and "licensed products" section.

The revised website for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games significantly improves on the previous design and content of the website. More than half of the visitors think the web pages are more eye-catching, cleaner and easier to use with faster delivery of information and content.

Another purpose of the survey was to collect suggestions concerning the content in the Games-time site planned to be launched in July 2008.

More than 7,000 voters wanted to read "timely and accurate game-time news" with more than 6,600 wanted "authoritative announcements of official information".

Additionally, 6,635 wanted immediate scores of Olympic competitions and 5,523 wanted live broadcasts of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympic (BOCOG) press conferences.

Webmasters will carefully analyze this feedback and fully consider the comments.

The revitalized official website was well received since the first day it was launched. Local newspapers, such as China Daily, China Sports, Beijing Evening News and Beijing Times, have given high marks to the new website.

NBA Superstar Yao Ming and Table Tennis gold medalist Zhang Yining has called for greater attention from the general public to the new official website.

The revamped official website of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games was launched on June 12, 2007. The original 30 columns were integrated into 12, which reorganized the sources of the website and allow users to browse and search information of the website on a faster basis with themed graphics of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, using blue-and-white and pagoda green as the dominant tone to represent the themes of Green Olympic and People's Olympics.
