Olympic training to focus on venue teams

(BEIJING, July 10) -- Training for the upcoming Beijing Olympics will focus on the managing teams in the competition venues to improve their proficiency.

The staff must go to work with a card proving that they have passed the necessary training, according to a meeting of the Coordination Group for the training matters of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on Monday.

In the second half of the year, training must be carried out among the employees of the service industries closely concerning the Olympic test events, in addition to the staff of the preparatory work and volunteers, the group noted.

Training for the next year's Paralympic Games must be enhanced, the governments at the county and district levels must pay due attention to the training, it added.

At the same time, the quality monitoring system as well as research and examination mechanisms must be established and improved, useful textbooks must be made ready and professional teaching staff must be sought, the meeting stressed.
